BeatCombo

O2Jam-style rhythm game, online in your browser

If you miss O2Jam, BeatCombo is a free 7-key rhythm game that plays the same way — notes falling down seven lanes, combo counters, PERFECT/GREAT/GOOD judgements — but runs in a browser tab. No client, no patcher, no server emulator.

What carries over from O2Jam

  • 7 keys on S D F Space J K L — the classic layout with the space bar in the middle.
  • Three difficulties per song, built like O2Jam's EX / NX / HX: the easy chart follows the melody, the middle one adds rhythm, the hard one adds chords and long notes.
  • Judgements and combo — PERFECT, GREAT, GOOD and MISS, with a combo counter and accuracy score.
  • Leaderboards on every chart, plus weekly, monthly and all-time rankings.

What is different

BeatCombo is not the original game and does not use its song files. Instead of a fixed song list, any song can become a chart: players upload audio and the site generates the notes automatically. That means the library keeps growing — from public-domain classical piano to creative-commons electronic tracks — and you can add your own favourites.

Play without installing anything

Old O2Jam clients are hard to run on modern systems and the official servers are long gone. BeatCombo needs nothing but a current browser (Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari) on a computer with a keyboard. Run the latency calibration once and you are ready to play.
